Want to volunteer?

We are always looking to grow so that we can expand our reach, improve our resources and come up with new ideas to assist the climate movement. Our organisation is entirely volunteer-run and so we rely on keen minds and fresh energy to help us be the best we can be.

Ideally, we require help from volunteers who have some kind of legal experience - i.e. you’re a law student, law graduate, paralegal or are legally trained in some other way. In addition, because we work with activists who are often engaging in different forms of civil disobedience, we are looking for people who have some form of experience within or connection to the climate movement, activism or community organising. At the very least, we need our volunteers to be passionate about the cause and accepting of peoples’ choices to engage in all different forms of activism.

Want to volunteer but live outside of Queensland?

Action Ready is currently a Queensland-based organisation with legal resources relevant to the Queensland jurisdiction. This is mainly because its members are Queensland-based and saw a gap in resources available to local activists.

If you live in a different state/territory and want to volunteer, we still encourage you to get in contact with us! We have the option to volunteer remotely on Queensland issues, or, we may be open to helping you create your own localised resources base for your state/territory.

Are you a qualified lawyer?

We are always looking for qualified lawyers who can provide us with occasional assistance by reviewing the accuracy of our legal research. If you are a practicing lawyer and don’t have much time on your hands, but would be able to help by proof reading our work from time-to-time, we would love to hear from you.
